Vote: IMAGO Photograph of the Year 2024

Photo agency IMAGO are again sponsoring the award for Photograph of the year 2024 at the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards – and the final selection of images are ready for you to judge!

Following the success of last years IMAGO Photograph of the Year, the UK Picture Editor’s Guild working with IMAGO, a global visual content provider with headquarters in Berlin has placed before the public 15 images to make their choice of the Photograph of the Year.

A panel of judges led by the Picture Editor of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Jason Green whittled the many images submitted down to their favourite fifteen. He said ”This year’s image selection showcases the diverse talents of UK photographers and highlights the vital role photojournalism plays across our entire industry. ”

Jason was supported by the Head of Pictures for The Times and The Sunday Times, Matthew Fearn, Alan Hamilton, Picture Editor, The Independent ,Zoe Linkson, Deputy Picture Editor at the Press Association and News Editor, EMEA for Getty Images, Jane Sherwood.

Last year over 7 thousand Europeans,1500 people from the USA and over 300 people from Australia participated in the vote to decide which was their favourite photograph of the year .

The image that caught the public eye was a photograph of HM The Queen at Balmoral by Press Association photographer Jane Barlow.

Sue Connolly,Head of Photography for Features at the Daily Mail said ”This image will go on to be an historic iconic image, the same at Elizabeth I in the Armada portrait or the Anne Boleyn pearl necklace painting”.

The name of one of those voting will be chosen at random and will receive a £500 luxury hotel voucher .
 
Voting is open now and closes at noon on March 12, 2025. The winning photographer and voucher recipient will be announced on April 1, 2025. and now it’s your turn to decide the winner.
