Russian news and photo agency RIA Novosti has won the Runet 2012 Prize in the “Culture, Media and Telecoms” category. The prize was awarded for RIA’s multimedia coverage of significant events and the launch of a new version of its Russian-language website http://ria.ru/ The agency has drastically redesigned its website, including its configuration and functionalities. Visitors to the ria.ru online resource get access to a variety of formats in news coverage – texts, photos, videos, infographics, schemes, etc. “RIA Novosti’s site is just one and a half months old and the Runet prize is very prestigious,” RIA Novosti’s editor-in-chief Svetlana Mironyuk said while accepting the prize.
The contest is organized by the Russian Association of Electronic Media with financial support from the Federal Agency for the Press and Media.
