500px launches world photographer directory + adds to Adobe Stock Premium

Take a look inside …photographer profiles in the 500px Directory – click it

Toronto based photo licensing platform 500px has today released an ‘easy-to-use’ global photographer directory .
The directory  – searchable by location and speciality  – already features nearly 50,000 photographers in 11,000 searchable locations representing 191 countries and is designed to offer them a chance to connect directly with customers and set their own rates for offline work. 500px clients  signed in can find a listed photographer in their self-service tool. Profiles in the directory include brief photographer bios, self-selected photo galleries of their best work, their availability, the equipment they use, and the languages they speak. When clients find someone they like, they simply click the “Hire” button to initiate a contract discussion. The Directory API – is currently in private beta – allows companies to embed lists of photographers onto their sites, giving their customers self-serve access to custom imagery from local photographers.
They say: “The Directory is a natural extension of our world-class photography-on-demand offerings, making 500px the go-to destination for global image buyers to find the right photographer for any custom job, large or small,” said Andy Yang, CEO of 500px.com. “Collaborating with Adobe Stock Premium means added exposure for our photographers as well.”
