Adobe Stock closes Editorial photo feed

Last week a PAN reader, a group photo editor, asked if we knew why the editorial image feed had disappeared from the Adobe Stock platform – so we investigated.

Yes they closed it – here’s what we got on the closure direct from Adobe HQ:
‘Adobe Stock strives to best serve our customers by investing in content and product features that best meet their needs. At this time, we’ve decided to close the Adobe Stock Editorial collection, so we can focus on other areas of our business to ultimately provide the best service for our customers. For customers that are interested in other editorial content, we encourage them to explore the illustrative editorial collection.’

Adobe Sock added Editorial images to their photo feed in 2017 with image feeds from Reuters and USA Today Sport (see the PAN report) boosted shortly after with the hire of ex-AP Vice President/Photography Santiago Lyon (see the PAN report). Santiago is currently heading up the brilliant Content Authenticity Initiative for Adobe. Even earlier than 2016 Adobe Stock had started a distribution relationship with a Reuters video and stills feed on the platform (see the PAN report).
