AFP will be launching the 5th edition of their Marai Photo Grant on November 17.
The competition is aimed at Southeast Asian photographers, created in tribute to Shah Marai, who was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan in 2018. The theme of this 2026 edition is water scarcity.
‘Participants are asked to show us the impact of water shortages on the daily lives of local populations. Winners will receive a prize, professional photography equipment, and will carry out their project with the support of an AFP photographer.’
