Great to see Getty Images continue their involvement, alongside BCOMS and Nikon, with emerging photographers in the industry through the Media Academy initiative which provides mentorship, training, equipment and real-world experience to build lasting careers. The images above are from a recent real-shoot experience which took place at the Soccer Aid event in the Uk a few weeks back. …
On Sunday 31st May, Abi Chilton and Ethan Nitunzi took up position pitch-side to document the event, supported and mentored by award-winning photographer Shane Anthony Sinclair and Soccer Aid for UNICEF chief photographer Daniel Hambury.

Photographer Abi Chilton told PAN about shooting at the event:
“I found the whole experience useful in the sense of learning how to communicate on a large scale team, in a fast paced environment alongside producing work and imagery that allows creative freedom in order to build my portfolio to be the most important thing. Not being restricted to directly working one to one with talent by things such as my age, ability or job level was super insightful as I move forward wanting to work on this scale in the future. A big thank you to Shane Anthony Sinclair and Soccer Aid’s Chief Photographer Dan Hambury for the time and guidance they gave me”

Photographer Ethan Nitunzi told PAN about shooting a live event
“I found the experience incredibly rewarding and a real opportunity to learn and develop my skills. Being surrounded by high-profile individuals- including the experienced and friendly staff, like Shane Anthony Sinclair and Dan Hambury the Soccer Aid Chief Photographer – and working on such a significant event was a fantastic experience. Having this work as part of my portfolio will be invaluable for my career going forward, and I’m excited to see what opportunities come next.”
