This passed PAN by back in January so I’m reporting this for the record: – At its Extraordinery General Assembly at the end of October (2025), the Swiss Association of Picture Agencies and Photo Archives (SAB) has unanimously decided to dissolve.
The decision to dissolve the association was made because the situation of picture agencies has changed so fundamentally due to the rapid technological development of image communication, that the number of members has steadily decreased and therefore an association in the small Swiss market has obviously become superfluous.
The remaining Board of Directors, consisting of Felix Brunner, Ursula Baumann and Michael Gysel, was elected for the liquidation.
In future, the “SAB Price Recommendations” guide, which is highly regarded for the fair pricing of a wide range of image uses and is widely used at, will therefore no longer be published. The current edition from 2024 will be the last, and sales will now be discontinued.
