Conference: digital strategies for heritage institutions – DISH

The third edition of the Digital Strategies for Heritage Conference (DISH) will be held in Rotterdam on 2 and 3 December 2013. Aimed at heritage professionals, this lively and internationally-oriented conference focuses on three key themes this year: Active Audiences, Business for Creative Industries and New Competencies.

DISH2013 is organized by three leading institutions in the field of digital heritage: The New Institute, DEN and Europeana. As in 2009 and 2011, the DISH conference focuses on digital strategies for heritage institutions. Triggered by changes in society, heritage organisations face many challenges and need to make strategic decisions about their activities and services. The key aims of the DISH conference are: providing inspiration, sharing knowledge, acquiring skills, encouraging innovation and networking.

Themes of DISH 2013
The themes of the DISH 2013 edition on 2 and 3 December in Rotterdam will be: Active Audiences, Business for Creative Industries and New Competencies in heritage institutions. The first two themes are about cooperating strategically. The third theme follows naturally from the first two: which new competencies are needed to achieve these new ways of working?

Conference Programme
This two-day event for heritage professionals will consist of small-scale interactive sessions interspersed with inspiring keynote talks. The speakers and full programme will be announced soon on www.dish2013.nl. The DISH conference also incorporates the Annual General Meeting for the Europeana Network (members only) on 2 December 2013.
