IMAGO sponsors key UK Picture Editors Guild Award

Berlin, Germany based photo agency giant IMAGO is the latest industry name to sponsor an award at this year’s UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards – The IMAGO Photograph of the Year.

IMAGO, the largest independent producer of sports content in Europe and a  leader across news media and photojournalism, will join the event for the first time. The public will be offered the opportunity to cast their vote from 50 shortlisted images in the IMAGO Photograph of the Year Award. 

• To be eligible to vote for your winner for Photograph of the Year, members of the public can register here – with a select number of registered entrants set to be invited to the Guild’s glamorous awards held at the Honourable Artillery Company HQ in London. The Public Vote will be open from August 30 to September 25th. The winner of the Photograph of the Year Award will win £500.

Markus Kohl, IMAGO CEO told PAN: “We are delighted to not only be joining the acclaimed UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards for the first time but bringing with us a new and exciting award. We’re looking forward to endorsing the Guild’s awards whilst bringing a fresh take with an open public vote and ultimately showcasing individual talent within the photography industry.”

IMAGO has joined us in a new venture that brings the work of press photographers everywhere to the attention of the people. For ten years we have promoted photographers, and surprisingly never the Photograph, but this year we are saluting the IMAGO Photograph of the Year, chosen by public vote.”

The IMAGO sales and content team will be attending the awards evening.
