Industry People: Neil Bennett is now Photography Manager at Tennis Australia

Neil Bennett – Photography Manager at Tennis Australia

Congratulations to PAN reader Neil Bennett on his newly appointed role of Photography Manager at Tennis Australia – the national governing body managing and promoting tennis across Australia and representing it internationally.

Pro photographer Neil has previously held various photo systems roles including Picture Editor at the Sunday Herald in Scotland and the Deputy Editor (and before that the Picture Editor) of the Western Mail in Wales. Most recently as Head of Photography at Australian Associated Press and then Head of Visual Storytelling at News Corp Australia.

PAN caught up with Neil this week to find out more about his new gig and what’s involved day to day:
“Thanks Will, my new role is  Photography Manger at Tennis Australia.

I lead Tennis Australia’s photography program, overseeing the creation, management and distribution of imagery for multiple stakeholders across the business. From editorial visual storytelling to brand marketing image support, the role combines creative leadership and digital asset management, ensuring our photography workflows, archives and systems support the delivery of world-class images that tell the stories of Australian tennis at every level.

It’s an absolute privilege to start in the role of Photography Manager at Tennis Australia.

Throughout the year, we showcase the journeys, achievements and personalities of Australian tennis players at every level, helping tell the stories that connect fans with the sport.

What makes this role even more special is seeing those stories culminate on the biggest stage at the Australian Open in January. As a world-class Grand Slam on the global calendar, the AO brings the eyes of the world to Melbourne each summer.

I’m incredibly proud to play a part in capturing unforgettable moments and leading a team that helps bring the excitement, emotion and excellence of Australian tennis to life.”

Neil.
