Congratulations to Vicente Poveda who will now be leading the German photo agency ddp.
Vicente joins the management of ddp media GmbH succeeding Ulf Schmidt-Funke who is retiring from the agency on June 30 after 13 years as the agency’s founding managing director. The management change comes after ddp was acquired by action press last year – see the PAN story on this.
Vicente Poveda, born and raised in Alicante, Spain, has held various editorial and sales positions at dpa since 2000. After studying German, Romance Studies and Political Science in Cologne and working as an editor and correspondent in Madrid, Berlin, Jerusalem and Havana, he moved to dpa’s foreign sales department in 2011, which he has headed from Hamburg since 2019. Poveda has also completed postgraduate studies in Public Relations and has worked as a freelancer for several international media companies.
