Lickerish photo library owners launch Wilma gallery

Long time PAN readers Willy Camden and Emma Carsten, the founders of London based photo syndication library Lickerish, have launched a photo and art gallery called Wilma selling prints and artwork from contemporary painters and photographers.

Wilma content is available mainly online and run from LA and London – they are running collabs with venues for in-person exhibitions,
They say: ‘We believe that great art should be accessible—not only to established collectors, but to anyone who feels a genuine connection with it. Whether someone is acquiring their first piece or adding to a lifelong collection, our aim is to present work that inspires curiosity, creates lasting enjoyment and encourages people to live with art they truly love. Our ambition with Wilma Gallery is to present art with context as well as care—to celebrate not only the finished work, but the creativity, craftsmanship and ideas that brought it into being.’

PAN caught up with Co-founder, photographer, Willy Camden to find out more about the project.’

PAN What’s the thinking behind Wilma Gallery?
Willy: The gallery grew naturally from our backgrounds in photography, publishing and image licensing. After many years representing photographers and artists through Lickerish syndication, we wanted to create a gallery that not only promoted artists but helped connect their work directly with collectors.

We believe that collecting should begin with curiosity and emotional connection as much as investment potential. Whether representing emerging artists or offering historically significant works through our Private Collections, our aim is always the same: to present work with context, integrity and a strong editorial voice.

PAN: Where is Wilma Gallery based?
Willy: Wilma Gallery is based in Los Angeles, California and London, with an international outlook shaped by our work across both the UK and the United States. While operating primarily as an online gallery, we regularly collaborate with exhibition partners and have successfully presented a number of exhibitions with NeueHouse in Los Angeles and New York.

PAN Who do you represent?
Willy: Wilma Gallery represents a carefully curated group of contemporary painters and photographers whose practices span fine art, portraiture, abstraction and mixed media. Alongside our represented artists, our Private Collections section offers collectors access to highly collectable works by internationally recognised photographers and artists.

Among the artists we represent are Peter Strongwater, Nick Egan, Stefan Johansson, Lisa Ledson, Ole Olofson, Kim Haskins, John Haskins, Andrew Kuykendall and the Estate of Eva Kolosváry-Stupler.

Recent highlights include Peter Strongwater’s Between Frames exhibition, featuring original contact sheets and photographs from a remarkable period in photography and popular culture, and Nick Egan’s mixed-media works exploring the intersection of music, art and graphic design.

Cheers Willy, all the best with the new project.
