In the UK, News Licensing, the photo agency and library of the The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and The Sun on Sunday newspapers are today expanding the publisher’s reach and revenue by partnering with The Mega Agency and ddp Group.
They say: “Following a countrywide review, News Licensing has appointed ddp Group to handle the sales of picture and video content from The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and The Sun on Sunday to news outlets across Germany.
News Licensing has also agreed a partnership with The Mega Agency that will give the US-based picture agency distribution rights to sell content to American entertainment outlets such as TMZ and E! from the same range of News UK titles. News Licensing will continue to work with its existing partner, Redux, on its studio and portraiture material sales in North America.”
David Leigh The Mega Agency’s Chief Content Officer told PAN over the weekend he was delighted to be partnering with News Licensing: “The Sun and its sister titles are well known for breaking so many great stories and producing fantastic news and showbiz content. We know our US clients are going to lap it up.”
Robin Ashton Head of Licensing at News UK told PAN “We’re delighted with our new partnerships to drive the reach of News UK’s award-winning content. ddp Group has the resource and experience to effectively represent the diverse range of material our titles generate. “The team at Mega have a solid track record in selling the type of content that our trusted titles are renowned for, particularly The Sun and The Sun on Sunday, and we look forward to working with them to help grow our sales in North America,” Ashton added.
