This in from PAN reader Ami Vitale, National Geographic photographer, writer, and documentary filmmaker, who is a founder at Vital Impacts – a women-led 501(c)(3) non-profit, who harness the power of art and storytelling to drive conservation action.
They have a an online pitch session on December 8 at 11 AM EST, featuring their grantees and mentees. Twenty talented photographers will each present a three-minute pitch, showcasing innovative approaches to environmental storytelling developed through their grants and yearlong mentorship programme.
We asked Ami about the photographers pitching: ‘The photographers are exceptionally talented and highly professional. Over the past year, each has worked one-on-one with some of the best editors in the world, honing their stories and approach. Their work is very unique, all with an environmental focus, but importantly, many of the stories carry a sense of hope and possibility.’
‘They are all working professionals, many with published work, and they’re accustomed to collaborating with publication photo desks. The subjects they cover range widely within environmental storytelling, from wildlife and conservation to communities deeply connected to their landscapes.’
‘This is a unique opportunity to discover new voices that may be of interest for publishing, commissioning, or future collaborations.’
You can RSVP here for the Vital Impacts Solutions-based Environmental Stories Pitch Session.
