Mark Hartnell the Photo Editor In Charge – Action Images (Thomson Reuters) has been coordinating the photo desk team editing, captioning and delivering images from the Reuters photographers covering the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics.

PAN asked Mark for his Stand Out Photo of the Games so far, he sent us the photo above by photographer Dylan Martinez shooting on a NIKON Z 9 saying: “Taken from one of the most popular sports at the games the Snowboard Cross, an event which is usually about competitors making jumps while racing each other. This frame is obviously a bit different to that. The way both of their snowboards are facing the same direction while taking a fall and the look on his face. It fills the frame nicely and the yellow helmet sticking out at the back isn’t bad either.”
