
News reaches PAN of the passing of Geoff Katz who founded editorial photo agency Katz Pictures in 1987 in London and then, in 1994, moved to New York and formed Creative Photographers Inc. (CPi). Geoff died on September 18th, he was 66.
This from his obituary posted on the Riverside Memorial Chapel memorial page: ‘Geoffrey’s artistic talent emerged early. He excelled at Edgware School and Orange Hill Grammar before earning an Art Foundation Diploma and pursuing an art degree at Central School of Art and Design (1980–83). He began his career as a photographer, then moved into talent representation, and ultimately founded Katz Pictures 1987 in London. Recognized globally for its excellence in managing esteemed and award winning photojournalists, syndication and licensing.
