Celebrity stills and video photo agency Splash has partnered with Flingo. The partnership will bring Splash’s celebrity and entertainment video news service, Splash News TV, to television audiences worldwide through Flingo’s Connected TV publishing suite.
Packaged video content from Splash News will be updated each daily initially to over 3 million TV sets with more than 17 million sets in the US expected to come on line by the end of 2011 and feature advertising and sponsorships dynamically inserted by Flingo.
“Flingo is the easiest path for media companies to design and deploy world-class applications on millions of Connected TVs. We are happy to have been selected to publish and monetize TV Apps for Splash News, a leading provider of entertainment news worldwide,” said Ashwin Navin, CEO of Flingo.
Flingo and Splash News will deploy branded, on-demand video applications on Connected TVs and Blu-ray players from Samsung, LG, Vizio, Insignia in addition to other platforms such as Google TV and Yahoo Widgets.
