SuperStock photo agency just added another interesting content collection to their stable by confirming the purchase of the highly respected UK based architectural and interiors photo library View Pictures.
Hot on the tail of last weeks announcement that they had bought the Danita Delimont Stock Photography – covered on PAN here – the View Pictures addition will add a very respectable body of architectural photography from some of best photographers in their field represented by the agency.
• The View Pictures photo agency was co-founded by architectural photographer Dennis Gilbert in 1997.
SuperStock‘s filmmaker and photographer CEO Stewart Cohen (he runs his own production company, SC Pictures in the U.S., shooting for major clients including American Airlines, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Four Seasons and Frito-Lay) told PAN: “I got super lucky in that when Getty bought their first footage collection called Fabulous Footage, Alwyn Gosford from Getty called me to help them design a path forward for filmmakers, because they knew that I was already doing combo live action and still shoots, ” he recalled. “At the time, Getty had fantastic analysts and was seeing the trends before any of the ad agencies. And with this network of complementary houses we’re building, we definitely have an enhanced perspective on the marketplace.”
View Pictures “SuperStock will bring a boost of energy and renewal to our collection” said Susan Bockelmann, CEO, View Pictures.
The View Pictures deal was consummated last week at the Standard Hotel London (PAN was invited – Thanks! – but unable to attend), where the two teams invited the London photographers to celebrate with a rooftop toast. At the event, Cohen shared “As the son of an architect, I understand the importance of this collection. We want to grow it and make it more relevant on both sides of the Atlantic.”
More, I’m sure, from SuperStock soon! ….
