Cyprus, Turkish refugees, women and children, flee their village after it was attacked the night and some of their men slain by Greek, Eoka fighters. They are escorted by a solitary British armored vehicle. All of this during the extended fighting between Greeks and Turks in 1963 and 1964 which finally led to the Turkish government invading the Northern part of Cyprus in order to establish a safe haven for the Turkish community. Forty one years later, in 2005, the island is still divided.
