It’s all change at Nature Picture Library in the UK – Tim Harris will be retiring from the role of Managing Director and Head of Content at the end of March, after more than 40 years in the business. Tom Gilks will be stepping into the role from 1st April.
Tim, who will continue to be involved with NPL in his capacity as part-time photo editor, told PAN: “I would like to thank all the wonderful clients, freelance researchers, partner agencies, photographers and photo industry contacts he has worked with for their support, friendship and stimulating discussions over the last 5 decades. It has been a joy working with you all!”
Nature Picture Library told PAN: “We are delighted to announce that Tom Gilks will succeed Tim as Managing Director and Head of Content. Previously Photo Editor of BBC Wildlife magazine, Tom brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and a passion for wildlife and photography, as well as a strong interest in marketing and ways in which we can harness new technology and develop our video offering, and we are thrilled to have his expertise and enthusiasm to lead the team and take NPL forward in exciting new ways.”
AND …there are a few more changes at the library – Sales & Marketing Manager Tim Aldred is leaving the library after 20 years to pursue a new role in conservation and James Robson and Anita Magson-Habaik, both with a zoology and TV background, have joined the sales and media research team, where they will work alongside Amy Milsom, Tom Gilks and the NPL office manager Kathryn Hyman.
All the best everyone settling into your new roles for 2025!
