Nature Picture Library now employee owned – Founder Helen Gilks retires

The new NPL owners

Tim Harris (top right in the photo above) who was recently appointed Managing Director at Nature Picture Library has today announced that the library is now staff owned.

Founder Helen Gilks, who started NPL over 20 years ago, has decided to retire—and in the process she had the vision to make Nature Picture Library an employee ownership trust. That means every single member of our team (pictured above) can now share in the future success of the business.

The NPL team are: TIM HARRIS MD, ALEX GREENWOOD: Deputy Office Manager, AMY MILSOM: Media Researcher & Sales, BEN GILLETT: Digital Imaging Manager, CHARLOTTE O’NEILL: Media Researcher & Sales, EWAN FLYNN: Video Editor & Sales, GILES MANNING: IT Manager, KATHRYN HYMAN: Office & Accounts Manager, NINA FULLBROOK: Senior Image Cataloguer, TIM ALDRED: Sales & Marketing Manager.
Team Mission statement: ‘To be the world’s best source of specialist nature photography, providing superb imagery and an exceptional level of service. In a world flooded with choice, we personally help our clients find the right visuals for their project.’

The new owners say: ‘We are excited at the prospect of taking the agency forward, with you—our clients, photographers and partners—inspiring us to be the best we can be. We are all incredibly grateful for Helen’s thoughtful leadership over the years and for creating the NPL collection with its brilliant roster of contributing stills and video photographers. We would like to thank her for securing our independence as we enter this new and transformative era. And we would like to thank you too, for being by our side. Here’s to many more years of happy and fruitful co-operation!”
