Congratulations to James Hoyle on his appointment of Chief Executive Officer at newsreel archive British Pathé.
James will replace Alastair White, who headed British Pathé (first as General Manager and, from 2017, as CEO) since its independence from the Daily Mail and General Trust 15 years ago. James first joined British Pathé in 2011 as a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge, from which he holds First Class Honours in History. As he worked his way up the ranks, he played a major part in the company’s successes, such as achieving 3 million YouTube subscribers, the inclusion of Reuters’ historical collection in the company’s archive offering, the launching of a new website, and the closing of historic deals in emerging markets.
