Good news from Hamburg here – action press, one of Germany’s leading press photo agencies since 1970, is again independent and privately owned. The agency was acquired along with The Picture Library Limited by start up agency SilverHub in 2016. Silverhub closed in June this year.
They say: ‘Ulli Michel, the original Managing Director at action press, used the management buy-out option and bought action press out of the SilverHub UK bankruptcy estate. Michel is now the sole shareholder picture agency and will once again lead the company with his team in Hamburg. The core areas action press will be shooting in are entertainment, royals and news and they are constantly being expanded and supplemented with relevant partnerships as well as with international photographers from abroad.’
