Ex Rex manager heads up new agency ‘Cover Images’ – from WENN

…”our mission is simple: to provide a cost-effective, creative and efficient alternative to the effective duopoly created by the behemoths of the photo industry”

At tomorrow’s fotofringe London event make sure you visit the WENN table as they have just announced the launch of a new photo agency called Cover Images which will be headed up by Glen Marks, formerly Business Development Manager at Rex Features.
Glen told PhotoArchiveNews.com this afternoon: “I am excited to be part of this new venture and believe the time is right to offer clients and contributors a refreshing, independent alternative to the ever-more corporate content models. “We are assembling a fantastic range of well-known image collections, agencies as well as introducing new and exclusive photographers and archives across all genres: news, fashion, sport, lifestyle, travel, stock, history plus, of course, film, music and entertainment. In fact, I like to think that we’ve got it covered.”
“And we are fortunate to be able to represent WENN’s news and entertainment archive of over 10 million images and to have the company’s global infrastructure supporting us through their presence in London, Berlin, New York and Los Angeles.”

Lloyd Beiny, the WENN’ media group Chairman (above at a recent fotofringe event) told PAN, “I have been in the industry for almost thirty years and never before has the commercial photo landscape changed so significantly and so rapidly. With the launch of Cover Images during Q2 2016, our mission is simple: to provide a cost-effective, creative and efficient alternative to the effective duopoly created by the behemoths of the photo industry.
“Somewhere along the way speed and price seems to have overtaken integrity and quality. At Cover Images we shall offer analogue values and digital value.”

Matthew Walker, MD of Cover Images and Cover Media, adds, “Cover Images is about making photos easy and affordable with inventive pricing structures to suit clients requirements. We have invested significantly in creating what we consider will be the most efficient photo website around.
”I’m delighted to now be able to offer a high quality images service alongside our editorial and video content.
“We are also partnering with other complementary companies to offer smart content solutions and we look forward to making further announcements over the coming weeks and months.”
